The universe has no innate meaning. That is why I create.
I marvel at the astounding fact of our existence - sapient life, perhaps the only sapient life - and I feel like not creating art would be such a waste.
Thoughts such as these - of meaningless-ness, of life, of complexity arising from simplicity through no direct, conscious action - are what drive me and what shape my process.
Thus, it is rare for me to have a preconceived idea when beginning a piece.
El universo no tiene un significado innato. Por eso creo arte.
Me maravillo ante el asombroso hecho de nuestra existencia, vida inteligente, quizás la única vida inteligente, y siento que no crear arte sería un desperdicio.
Pensamientos como estos - de la falta de sentido, de la vida, de la complejidad que surge de la simplicidad sin una acción directa y consciente - son los que me impulsan y dan forma a mi proceso.
Por lo tanto, es raro que tenga una idea preconcebida al comenzar una pieza.
Just as evolution gives rise to life through natural selection of random mutations, so do I use fractal geometry (using software) to find and create unique meaning & beauty.
Fractal geometry is mind-blowing, and I enjoy not fully understanding it, yet still being able to use it, similar to how genes don't understand the life they encode. Thus, the less intent I have in the creation of a piece, the better.
There are few things better than the feeling I get when I discover something unique out of the chaos. When a random, garbled mess suddenly transforms itself into an exploding planet, or a succubus's bum..!
You probably want to contest my "meaningless universe" claim - but remember, I said no _innate_ meaning .. Of course meaning exists. But only because we assign it. And this is marvellous! =) In the end, that's what I do...:
I take the end results of my wrestlings with chaos and ascribe meaning to them. And just as we might see things differently in life, so you and I might see different meanings in my work. If you see the same as I, well, then we're likely to be friends, I suppose ^-^
Yet there are pieces in my work that have a very clear intention - because in recent years, I've begun playing "god", in the same way most of my fellow artists do. I've tried wielding my now familiar tools and creating worlds of my own with them.

Así como la evolución da lugar a la vida a través de la selección natural de mutaciones aleatorias, también uso la geometría fractal para encontrar y crear un significado y una belleza únicos.
La geometría fractal es alucinante, y disfruto no entenderla completamente, pero aun así poder usarla, de manera similar a cómo los genes no entienden la vida que codifican. Así, cuanto menos intención tenga en la creación de una pieza, mejor.
Hay pocas cosas mejores que la sensación que tengo cuando descubro algo único fuera del caos. ¡Cuando un desorden aleatorio y confuso de repente se transforma en un planeta que explota, o en el trasero de un súcubo...!
Probablemente quieras rebatir mi afirmación de "universo sin sentido", pero recuerda, dije que no hay significado _innato_... Por supuesto que existe el significado. Pero solo porque lo asignamos. ¡Y esto es maravilloso! =) Al final, eso es lo que hago...:
Tomo los resultados finales de mis luchas con el caos y les adscribo un significado. Y así como podemos ver las cosas de manera diferente, tu y yo podemos ver diferentes significados en mi arte. Si ves lo mismo que yo, bueno, entonces es probable que seamos amigos, supongo ^-^
Sin embargo, hay piezas en mi trabajo que tienen una intención muy clara, porque en los últimos años, he comenzado a jugar a "dios", de la misma manera que lo hacen la mayoría de mis compañeros artistas. He intentado manejar mis herramientas ahora familiares y crear mis propios mundos con ellas.
